Asst. Prof. Dr. Sakhorn Rimjaem joined as an organizer and instructor at the 6th International School on Beam Dynamics and Accelerator Technology (ISBA23)

During August 3 - 12, 2023, Assistant Professor Dr. Sakhorn Rimjaem was honored by the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) to be an organizer and instructor for the 6th International School on Beam Dynamics and Accelerator Technology (ISBA23). ISBA23 is a particle accelerator training in the Asian region, a series of KEK-IINAS-NX series. This time, it was held in Pohang, South Korea. Assistant Professor Dr. Sakhorn Rimjaem lectured on the RF system and taught how to use ASTRA to simulate electron beams in linear accelerators. The organizers also allow Physics (PhD level) graduates to join the training on this occasion. Lecturers and students from the Hub of Talents are the only groups invited in the Southeast Asian region.

In the training, there were lectures from experts on both theoretical aspects of particle accelerators and related equipment, the application of particle accelerators in medicine and industry, and the application of machine learning and AI to particle accelerators. There were also student research presentations (student sessions) to exchange ideas and receive advice from experts in particle accelerators. In addition, there was a Hands-on training session that allowed students to practice simulating electron beams in both circular and linear particle accelerators using ASTRA and ELEGANT programs. Students were divided into groups, each with different tasks. All groups presented their results on simulating electron beams in their accelerators on the last day of the training.
