By integrating the unaveraged 3D FEL code Puffin with the Optical Propagation Code (OPC), it enables the modelling of broadband, high-resolution cavity FELs, particularly a Regenerative Amplifier FEL in the VUV range. Unlike traditional models that average the optical field, this work uses unaveraged simulations to explore sub-wavelength effects in IR-FEL oscillator, revealing phenomena like Coherent Spontaneous Emission (CSE), sub-wavelength cavity detuning, and preferential lasing at the third harmonic. The research also investigates the saturation mechanism of a superradiant spike using a 1D model developed with Puffin, demonstrating the non-linear evolution of spike radiation and electron dynamics. This research advances FEL simulation by combining Puffin and OPC, offering new insights into FEL processes and potential technological
