Thailand Center of Excellence in Physics participated in the discussion and workshop on the Accelerator Mass Spectrometer for Radiocarbon Dating from 27-30 June 2023. The objectives were to report the progress of the project to develop a system for preparing archaeological samples for dating, report the current status of the dating of ancient objects, report the current status of preparation for the construction of an Accelerator Mass Spectrometer (AMS) for Radiocarbon Dating in Thailand, and a workshop on the study of the design of Source of Negative Ions by Cesium Sputter (SNICS) for the AMS.
Participating agencies include the Synchrotron Light Research Institute (Public Organization), National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT), Department of Physics, Suranaree University of Technology, Plasma&Beam Physics Research Facility, Chiang Mai University, Hub of Talents, Thailand Center of Excellence in Physics (ThEP), and Faculty of Archaeology, Silpakorn University.
