Researchers from PCELL and NARIT collaborated on research at the Institute of Low Temperature Science, Hokkaido University, Japan.

During 14 - 18 August 2023, researchers from the PBP-CMU Electron Linac Laboratory (PCELL), Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University, together with researchers from the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand in the project on the study of the structure of formation and interactions between hydrocarbon molecules and organic molecules in space, were invited to participate in research on the topic of Cold surface Experiments of Interstellar Complex Molecules at the Institute of Low-Temperature Science, Hokkaido University, Japan.

Participating in this research, we exchanged knowledge on low-temperature experiments for simulating interstellar medium conditions. Prof. Naoki Watanabe, an expert in this field, lectured and conducted experiments with laboratory equipment. We also visited various laboratories of the Institute of Low-Temperature Science, such as the ice storage room from the South Pole, which has a temperature as low as -50 degrees Celsius, the room used for various experiments, and the factory with high-precision machinery. This has led to cooperation in research and development between agencies both domestically and internationally and has also led to the development of the potential of students and researchers.
